Exploring New Dimensions of Ethiopian Coffee
ALO Coffee was born from a dream to honor Ethiopian coffee through quality and innovation. After years in the industry, Tamiru, a former teacher and engineer, saw its potential and challenges. Inspired by the 2020 Cup of Excellence, he and his wife, Messi, founded ALO to share Sidama’s finest with the world.
The journey began with a small lot from their home village of Alo, in Bensa, which won Ethiopia’s Cup of Excellence in 2021.That experience strengthened the commitment to producing coffees that express purity, care, and craftsmanship. Today, ALO Coffee operates high-end processing stations across Sidama (Bensa, Bona, Burra) and West Arsi Nensebo.
ALO Coffee embraces the low-yield challenge that comes with high-altitude coffees, knowing it leads to exceptional quality. It has shared this vision with farmers, encouraging them to focus on high-altitude cultivation and helping reveal the hidden jewel of these coffees. ALO Coffee remains committed to premium lots grown at altitude, a pursuit that reflects both respect for the land and dedication to excellence.

Echoes of the Peak
Echoes of the Peak was created to showcase the depth of ALO Coffee's commitment to producing coffees that express both origin and craftsmanship.
The collection brings together coffees from Sidama’s highest coffee-growing landscapes and explores a range of carefully developed processing methods. Over the years, ALO has continuously explored new ways of expressing Ethiopian coffee while remaining rooted in the character of origin.
The coffees featured in our auction showcase the breadth of that work. All of the coffees in this collection combine gentle shade drying with slow finishing in a Light-Deprived Environment (LDE). This approach allows flavors to develop gradually while protecting delicate aromatics and maintaining balance.
The coffees are processed through four distinct families: Natural, Washed, Hybrid, and Anaerobic. Each family features two unique expressions: one follows a direct path from processing to drying, while the other introduces an additional resting phase in sealed GrainPro bags before the final drying stage.
Together, these processes create a diverse range of flavor expressions that reflect ALO's commitment to patience, precision, and innovation while preserving the character of origin.
